Dale Emmons
Dale is a native of Tilton, a Northeast farming community, in Fleming County. Today he lives and runs his business out of Richmond, Kentucky. Dale's early
years exposed him to work on the family farm and the family owned country store (Emmons General Store 1900-1992) in Tilton. Politics were a
frequent topic and candidates for local, state and federal offices stumped for votes around the pot bellied stove and on the front porch of the store. In fact the store's ware room
served as the community polling place for several years.
Dale did his undergraduate and graduate work at Morehead State University. He was a three-time student government officer and President
of Delta Tau Delta's Zeta Zeta chapter. His academic success earned him admission into Delta Taul Alpha Academic Honor Society. This is also where he got his political start. He began by
working to assist a young Louisville State Senator, Romano Mazzoli, who was running for the U.S. House of Representatives. Even though the efforts of the
MSU YD's were more than 150 miles from the district, they generated more than 800 absentee ballots helping Mazzoli win! Later he was involved in Lt.
Governor Wendell Ford's 1971 race for Governor and Dee Huddleston's 1972 U.S. Senate campaign. These experiences were key components of
Dale's election as State President of the Young Democrats in 1975. During the same year he served as State Youth Chairman for Julian Carroll and Thelma
Stovall in their successful campaigns for Governor and Lt. Governor. He was one of President Jimmy Carter's first Kentucky supporters. Under his
leadership, Kentucky's Young Democrats built a statewide grass-root following of more than 10,000 members. He was a delegate to the 1980 and 2000 Democratic National Conventions.

Dale's experiences include stints as a political aide on a Kentucky Governor's staff,
a chief aide to two elected Kentucky education commissioners, the chief assistant to the elected State Auditor and a top aide to the Democratic leadership of the Kentucky
House of Representatives during the historic efforts to reform Kentucky's education system.
Dale is frequently sought out by the print and the electronic media for his insight into political developments. He has done election analysis and consulting work
for TV and radio stations and has appeared on public affairs news programs throughout Kentucky. Since he only represents Democrats, he is frequently called upon to give a Democratic prospective.
